Best Looks From New York Fashion Week Days 4 – 7
Fashion week is in full swing but we keep seeing looks so complicates that they could only work on the runway or at well orchestrated public appearance where you are followed by publicists and bodyguards. Us, real girls can’t really wear that. That’s why for our favourite looks of the second part of New York Fashion Week we picked threes outfits that you can hit the pavement in any day. Just follow our advice.
Look 1 – Band of Outsiders
We love this easy, relaxed look for those spring days when it’s still a bit chilly outside. Pick a light, flowy, below-the-knee dress and anchor it with heavier shoes and a chunky knit, like this one by Stella McCartney. It will comfortably take you through a day at the office and can be transformed into a more dressy outfit for night with the addition of a sparkly necklace or/and bright lipstick
look 2 – J Crew
This look will save you from a colourless rut so many of us get stuck in in the colder months. It’s a bit unexpected to mix casual cargo pants with an elegant bright blazer but the results look great. Especially when they are finished off with the right accessories like a fun, multicoloured scarf and a glittery heel!
Look 3 – Banana Republic
We confess we almost did not want to include this look, as it’s just sooooo good, that we want to wear it ourselves every single day of this Spring, but we love your, dear reader, so here it is. A cozy grey turtleneck and a menswear inspired blazer are elevated to new style heights by denim culottes and a metallic heel. Don’t be intimidated by this trousers shape that’s been cropping up on so many street style photos and fashion runways. It’s really easy to wear if you just add a heel and some confidence. Still dubious? Just swap the culottes for your trusty boyfriend jeans. Add leather gloves for extra polish.
