How To Layer Your Outerwear 101
Looking througj London fashion week street style galleries we saw some superb outfits that involved layering coats and jackets. Here is how to master this tricky but awesome trend.
Coat over jacket
This is probably the easiest way to layer, however we decided to give it an interesting twist by mixing together unexpected colors such as white denim with a pastel pink coat.
Jacket over Jacket
We love using our trusty denim jacket through the colder months by layering it under a leather one or over it like in the photo above. It’s a classic color and texture combination that you just can’t go wrong with. To recreate this look you can even steal the denim from your boyfriend of brother as a roomier version will fit better over leather.
Coat over Hoodie
Wanna look stylish on cold, windy days? Here is a perfect solution. Wear a hoodie under a classic wool or cashmere coat. It fits perfectly into the sportswear trends that has been going strong for a few seasons now (Thank you Alexander Wang) and will keep you nice and warm. To keep the look elegant choose classic colors such as beige, grey and black or go for monochrome.
Jacket over Coat over Hoodie
This one is for the brave and experiences, as it is very important to get the proportions right to avoid looking like homeless person. First take a fitted hoodies, we don’t need extra bulk underneath, then put on a printed coat to keep things fun and interesting. Finish it off with a jacket slightly shorter that the previous layer. It is best to stick to the same color pallet with all three pieces to make the look more cohesive.
