The Best Beauty Looks of Milan Fashion Week
Fashion weeks not only set clothing trends, they are also a showcase for what hair and make up looks we will want to wear next season. We picked three of the best beauty looks from Milan Fashion week and asked our beauty expert how to recreate them.
Look 1 – Undereye liner @ Francesco Scognamiglio
We are going gaga over this sensual lingerie inspired collection that wouldn’t be complete with a new take on the “morning after” make up. We think that the undereye liner looks super edgy and modern and are definitely trying it out at the next party. The trick here is to keep the rest of your face looking as make-up dress as possible. Try Dior Airflash CC Primer that will erase shadows, even out skin tone and brighten dull complexions instead of your usual foundation and concealer routine. Afterwards line the inner corners of your eyes and the bottom lash line with black kohl eyeliner. Don’t be afraid to layer it on quite thickly. Now take a Q-tip dipped in vaseline of clear lipgloss and smudge till you get the desired effect. Wipe away any mistakes and voila!
Look 2 – Artsy smoky eye @ Fendi
The sweet updos and rosy lips at Fendi were counteracted with haphazard black eye make up that looked like a set of drawn on extra lashes. To recreate this mod look you will definitely need some eyeshadow primer such as MAKE transforming eye primer to keep things in place. After it sets, take a felt tip liner in black and start drawing your fake eyelashes. Don’t be scared of shake hands, they don’t have to be perfectly straight to look cool and modern. Finish with two generous coats of mascara.
Look 3 – Wavy faux bob @ MaxMara
Marilyn Monroe was the main inspiration for this sexy show and at first we thought that this hairstyle would be super difficult to recreate. However, with a few professional tricks and great product finds and turned out to be not much harder than our regular blow-out. For this look you will need some volume at the roots so start by washing your hair with a volumizing shampoo and apply conditioner only to the ends. Spray with volumizing spray and blow dry smooth using a round brush. Once hair is completely dry, curl 1-inch sections of hair, starting from the back, using a 1 or 1 1/2-inch curling iron (depending on the length of your hair). Work your way to the front of your hair. Patience is key; the more curls you create, the better the results. Once the hair is curled, apply a small amount of shine serum to your hands and run your fingers through your hair to break up curls. Spray with sea salt spray and scrunch the curls with your hands to make them look less perfect. This makes all the difference, trust us. Now tie a hair elastic at the very end of your hair. Roll the hair under the elastic and tuck toward the nape of the neck. Be sure to spread the hair evenly in a horizontal direction, thus creating a bob. Leave sides of hair out to further create the illusion of the bob. Secure with as many bobby pins as needed and apply some hairspray for extra hold.
